Number of credits: 1,5 HEC Number of participants: 12 Aim The aim is to increase your awareness of yourself as a person and leader, as well as to highlight useful approaches and methodology when creating and leading teams. Intended learning outcome By the end of the course, you will be able to: - reflect upon yourself as a person and leader - reflect upon the importance of creating trust, psychological safety, a clear framework and direction into group work, and describe the group development stages according to the theory of Susan Wheelan - practise a coaching approach in your everyday work. Admission requirements No prerequisites. Active participation and reflection during the course are needed. The course blends theory and practice and is interactive in its format. Content During the course we will cover the phases in the development of small groups, key factors to be aware of when creating and managing teams, how to build trust and psychological safety. Other topics that will be covered are motivation and drive, what is a coaching approach and how to use it in practise. Running Schedule The course practises experiential and experience-based learning. Individual and group reflections will be key ingredients together with short theoretical sessions. The course consists of three days in the classroom and one day of individual work. Language English Literature A list of reference literature will be provided before the course starts. Assessment Full attendance at all sessions and a pass in a written exam where you reflect upon what you have learned. Rating: U/G. The written examination is presented in a form of a learning log. After each course day you are expected to reflect upon your own learning. After the course, you summarize your reflections in a report about your learning. The report is expected to be presented in writing and shall include a minimum of 5000 characters excluding spaces. Students can be examined in the courses they have enrolled on within one year of the start. After the expiry date no missing assignments are admissible and a participant should re-apply for the course. *** - Stand-by list means that the course is fully booked but you may be offered a seat place if one becomes available.
